Internship Program

Internship forms a key component of higher education. In current time it is a challenge for students and young professionals to get the perfect internship placements. It is an even greater challenge for internships in the environmental management space.

Many capable and deserving students often do not get the opportunity to work at organizations where they can contribute to the work as well as learn. Their potential largely remains untapped due to lack of mentoring.

In India, there are no mechanisms of connecting Universities and Organizations for Internships. Our internship program has been designed to address this critical gap. We involve our interns in the projects we work with and mentor them. Interns prepare a work plan and make presentations on their progress and at the end submit a report. Often the outputs get published giving the intern confidence and recognition.

Getting internship at EMC is very competitive as we take around 4 interns out of 200+ applications we receive. Interns have to work full time. Minimum period of internship is 2 months and maximum is 3 months. Interested interns need to submit CV, a Statement of Purpose, any recent written output and cite two references. Internship is open only for Indian Nationals.

We offer a modest stipend in the range of Rs 5000 to 10,000 /month depending on qualifications and experience of the intern. Please note that internship at EMC is not an employment. It is a program designed to provide experiential learning to graduate/post graduate students in the field of environmental management. The stipend provided to the intern is only to help meet the subsistence and a token of appreciation. It does not imply any honorarium or salary. We do not provide accommodation facility to the intern during an internship.

In most cases, interns have undertaken full time projects at their universities/institutions following the foundation work carried out at EMC. In some cases, the outputs have been accepted and published in international conferences. Our interns are now placed at well established companies pursuing enviable careers while staying in contact with us.
