A leading Indian FMCG company was interested to conduct vulnerability assessment of their physical assets in view of anticipated climate change. The physical assets included manufacturing facilities such as pulp and paper, hotels and resorts, and warehouses located pan-India. EMC was commissioned to carry out vulnerability assessment of all the assets at a screening level to prioritize and come up with a catalogue of adaptation plans. EMC carried out such a vulnerability assessment considering exposure, sensitivity and adaptive capacity of each of the 26 assets and came up with prioritization. for every asset, a report card was prepared to help the asset manager to understand the likely changes in temperature, precipitation, sea-level rise (where applicable) for various RCP scenarios of emissions as per IPCC.
