A European Development Finance Institution was considering an investment into an end-to-end logistics company. EMC was appointed as an independent environmental and social consultant to perform an Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) Assessment of the Company and for undertaking a pre-feasibility assessment of proposed value add initiatives. The ESDD assessment included verifying the project against a reference framework, identifying compliance gaps and suggesting necessary mitigation and follow-up actions through an Environmental and Social Action Plan. EMC also carried out a pre-feasibility studyto assess the opportunities and challenges in switching the logistic company’s delivery fleet to electricvehicles and/or low carbon vehicles infrastructure requirements, ownership models andregulatory restrictions.
