Research Associate

Aneesa re-joined EMC in July 2020 as a Research Associate after previously interning with the team in the summer of 2018. She has completed her BSc in Business, Management and Public Policy from Aston University, UK. She has a keen interest in climate change related issues and the role that businesses can play in combating the same. She has previously worked in various sectors including sustainability research and training (Centre for Environmental Research and Education), artificial intelligence (IBM UK), sustainable meat (The Good Food Institute), and sustainable fashion (Zavi Designs). At EMC, she is currently involved with extensive research on Circular Economy and is a part of the team which is overlooking the operations of the educational platform, CEkonnect.

Apart from her formal work experience, she has also led multiple social projects related to sustainability. For instance, whilst in university she was leading a program that enabled under-privileged women in villages of Kerala to produce sustainable soap and sell them for profit. She hopes to advance her career in the social impact sector where she can help companies align their operations to consider social issues such as climate change and gender equality.

During her free time, she loves to engage with her artistic side through painting and work up her muscles by going on adventure treks!
