Philosophy of our Services

EMC has structured its services under the areas of Consulting, Knowledge Management and Training.

These service areas are complementary and intersecting in many ways.

Training for instance is often an integral part of EMC’s consulting services. Under knowledge management EMC helps its clients in distilling and mobilizing unstructured and incomplete mosaic of information in the right locations of business processes for decision making. The information after structuring, updating and peering integrates domain specific expertise to add a value in new product development, benchmarking and branding. Knowledge Management thus brings in a sustainability and improved effectiveness to EMC’s Consulting and Training services.  

EMC plays multiple roles in delivering its services depending on Client needs. The nature of Projects delivered is hence broad and covers a wide canvas in the field of Environmental Management.

The interaction with Client often starts with a “Problem” or an “Opportunity”.

Situation Analyses, Research, Consultation and Scoping become the key service elements here where EMC enters a Counselling role.

This is often followed by processes such as Generation of Alternatives, Feasibility Assessment, Networking for Leveraging and Impact Assessment where EMC moves to more of a strategic involvement.

Next comes the detailed planning/engineering stage where EMC puts in its expertise on Life Cycle Thinking, Knowledgebase on Technologies, Regulatory and Market Information and pools its strength of Associates to propose cost-effective, compliant, environmentally sound and socially acceptable solutions.

For interested Clients, EMC then assumes a role of Coordinator/Project Manager to implement the evolved concept, design or plan into practice. This step includes preparation of specifications, bid documents, bid evaluation, supervision and quality control.

In some cases, EMC is commissioned by the Clients to improve and reorient outputs produced by other Consultants and conduct a review in the form of Compliance Assessment or Effectiveness Audit. Services are also asked to develop a Communication Campaign to outreach key stakeholders.

EMC’s services are thus well rounded, adaptive and strategic. It is not surprising therefore that EMC is able to maintain long term and evolving relationships with its Clients for the past several years.
