Highlights of some of the projects on Compliance and Effectiveness Audits 
| A multinational glass making company commissioned EMC to conduct an
environmental compliance audit at its facility. The audit was carried
out considering State and National environmental and allied regulations
as well as following company's international corporate requirements and
protocols. | 
| EMC assisted a US based company to conduct compliance audits for
two of its plants in India. After areas of non-compliance were
identified, EMC worked further to resolve non-compliance related
issues. A similar work was carried out for a German company having a
plant in India. |  | An automobile parts manufacturer contracted EMC to conduct internal audit for EMS ISO 14001. | 
| EMC was contracted by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF),
Government of India, to assess the effectiveness of Industrial
Pollution Control project financed by the World Bank. The project
involved development and application of Environmental Performance
Indicators through discussions with State Pollution Control Boards,
MoEF and financial institutions; viz. IDBI and ICICI. Field visits to
demonstration and investment projects as well as the Common Effluent
Treatment Plants were also included. | 
| The World Bank contracted EMC to carry out Effectiveness Audit of
Environmental Assessment of projects in the fiscal years 1990-1997 in
India. | 
| ICICI Bank operated lines of credit, supported by Japanese Bank for
International Cooperation, to finance projects on industrial pollution
prevention and control and other supported by the Asian Development
Bank under Urban Environmental Infrastructure Fund (UEIF). ICICI Bank
contracted EMC to carry out the impact assessment as well as Benefit
Monitoring Evaluation (BME) of these two lines of credit and make
recommendations based on the lessons learnt. | 
| The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority commissioned EMC to assess effectiveness of air quality monitoring network of Mumbai. EMC developed a phase wise implementation plan with specific recommendations on revised locations, monitoring parameters and frequencies, emission and health surveys, automation, information sharing and laboratory management. In the entire assignment, a workshop-based approach was used involving key institutions and experts.
