EMC prepared for Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) an Action Plan on Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM);under support of UNEP International Environment Technology Centre (IETC).

Subsequent to this work, a spreadsheet model for management of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in a city was developed. This model, called SIMWaste provides an insight and hands on experience to the users on management of MSW. The model is unique and has been developed for the first time – again under the support of UNEP IETC.

EMC isoffering a short training programme on February 21, Thursday between 14:00 to 18:00 hrs on this MSW model.In this programme, there will be a short presentation on ISWM, introduction to SIMWaste and its application in Pune’s context. The programme is free. All participants will have an access to work on a Personal computer to get a hands-on experience. This facility is provided courtesy Seed Infotech Ltd.
