GPN India  "node" was initiated under the framework of International Green Purchasing Network founded in Japan. In 2007, this node was operated by Mandar Parasnis, E2KM Group and Associate to EMC.  

EMC will operate from January, 2008 the Green Purchasing Network (GPN) of India. Under this initiaive, EMC proposes to conduct a number of activities on raising awareness, influecing practice and providing advice to key stakeholders such as business organizations (procurement heads, green product makers and suppliers), policy makers and regulators (especially in environmental arena), consumer organizations, educatioinal institutes (related to product design and retail management).
