Establishment and operation of Environmental Management System (EMS) is an effective strategy to address environmental issues and continuously improve on the attainment of environmental objectives. EMS as per ISO 14001 provides an internationally understood common approach. EMC has in its team and Associates, lead auditors trained in EMS ISO 14001 who have experience on implemention of EMS across various organizations.

EMC encourages integration of key concepts such as Cleaner Production and Eco-Design in the implementation of EMS. Such an integration has been found to lead to preparation of cost-effetive Environmental Management Plans (EMPs). In addition, a harmonized approach is recommended that brings together systems like ISO 9000 and OHSAS 18000 with EMS ISO 14001. EMC promotes Integrated Management Systems.

EMC is currently working wih an international partner to develop intranet/web based EMS software for effective establishment and maintenance. A number of training programmes are offered on topics like Internal Auditing, ISO 14001-2004 Update etc. Discussions are underway with a reputed International Certifier to launch series of Training Porgrammes for Lead Auditors for EMS.
