Lens Flare 2012 is the first of its kind and the largest Environmental Film Making and Art Festival in India. The event has been conceptualised, designed and is being conducted by Lens Flare, an organisation of vibrant young mass media and management graduates. The Contest is scheduled from 22 April to 5 June 2012. 60,000 artists and students from 8 cities and 7 states across the country would exercise their aesthetic and creative minds to make beautiful films of 10-15 mins duration on 5 themes. The central theme which has been proposed to the participants is Climate Change and Green Economy, which primarily are the objectives for Rio +20 and UNEP for the present year. Under each theme, the best film will be selected by the environmental experts and film makers and their talents would be recognised in public.

With an objective of connecting 500,000 people with Nature, this event is an initiative of University of Mumbai, Life Sciences Department and The Lens Flare project in partnership with EMC LLP, NEERI and General Carbon.

EMC has partnered with Lens Flare on the grounds of knowledge management and expert advisory. Apart from being a part of the expert jury for the various competitions, EMC will be helping Lens Flare to develop the content for their website and will also provide peering/advisory services to aid the technicalities of the events.
